San Juan Ára 2026

San Juan Ára (St. John's Day) on June 24 is one of the most beloved popular festivals in Paraguay. Communities across the country celebrate with traditional Juegos de San Juan (St. John's Games) — the most spectacular of which is Tatayopy, where participants walk barefoot across beds of burning coals. Other traditional games include Paila, Bolita Tatá (burning ball football), and the Olla Encantada. The night is filled with folklore music, traditional food, and the warm glow of bonfires.
