Mashramani 2027

Mashramani (Mash) is Guyana's national festival, celebrating the country's Republic Day on February 23. The word 'Mashramani' is derived from an Amerindian term meaning 'celebration after hard communal work.' The festival features spectacular float parades, masquerade bands in elaborate costumes, calypso competitions, cultural shows, and sports events across Georgetown. Mash is one of the most distinctive national celebrations in the Caribbean region.
