Jacmel Carnival 2027

The Jacmel Carnival is Haiti's most artistically celebrated carnival, famous for its extraordinary papier-mâché masks and costumes crafted by local artisans for months in advance. Held in the picturesque colonial port city of Jacmel, the carnival is smaller and more intimate than Port-au-Prince's version but is considered the heart of Haitian artistic expression. The floats and costumes are entirely hand-made using papier-mâché traditions passed down for generations.
