Fiestas Patrias Chile 2026

Fiestas Patrias, Chile's national holiday celebrations on September 18-19, are the most joyful and widely celebrated events in the country. Fondas (temporary fairground restaurants) spring up in every park and plaza, selling empanadas, anticuchos, and endless chicha (fermented grape or apple cider). The national dance — the cueca — is performed everywhere, and traditional Chilean games like rayuela and trompo are played. Military parades, rodeos, and fireworks complete the national celebration.
