Fiesta del Gran Poder 2026

The Fiesta del Gran Poder is La Paz's most important religious and cultural celebration, dedicated to the Lord of Gran Poder. Every May or June, over 40,000 dancers and musicians from hundreds of dance fraternities parade through La Paz's steep streets for more than 20 consecutive hours. The dances include the Morenada (the most popular, with huge wheeled costumes), Caporales, Tinku, Saya Afroboliviana, and dozens of others, all performed in full costume on the world's highest capital city.
