Festival de Merengue 2026

The Festival de Merengue is held every late July and early August along the Malecón (seaside promenade) of Santo Domingo. For two weeks, the waterfront fills with free concerts by the biggest merengue and bachata artists in the Dominican Republic, alongside craft vendors, food stalls serving tostones, mangú, and sancocho, and thousands of dancing locals and visitors. It's one of the most joyful and accessible free festivals in the Caribbean.
