Carnaval de San Miguel

One of Central America's largest carnivals, the Carnaval de San Miguel transforms El Salvador's eastern city with parades, floats, fireworks, and over two dozen musical groups performing across genre-organized zones. Leading up to the main event, smaller neighborhood 'carnavalitos' bring concerts and food fairs to San Miguel's districts throughout November, blending religious observance of the Virgin of Peace with street festivity.
