Alasitas

This UNESCO-recognized Aymara fair centers on Ekeko, the god of abundance, and the tradition of buying miniature replicas of homes, cars, diplomas and other desired items in the belief that doing so will bring the real thing within the year. The fair opens January 24 in La Paz and continues for two to three weeks with stalls selling miniatures across the city.
